Delete The Divide’s Fire Relief Efforts Following the Eaton Wildfire

January 2025, in the wake of the devastating Eaton Wildfire, Delete The Divide stepped up to support our community, providing much-needed resources to those affected. We distributed over 600 free laptops to residents and small businesses impacted by this disaster.

The loss and disruption caused by the wildfire have been immense, affecting livelihoods and personal lives alike. Understanding the critical role that technology plays in today’s world, we recognized the urgent need for support and took action. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners in this initiative: New Revelation Missionary Baptist Church in Pasadena, KJLH, and Impact LA. Their collaboration has been invaluable, and we are not just providing laptops but also a pathway for community to reconnect, rebuild, and move forward.

Free Laptops And Tech Training For Cudahy Residents With DTD

On October 30, 2024, Delete The Divide partnered with the City of Cudahy to support local residents in bridging the digital divide.

During the event, DTD successfully distributed 144 laptops, equipping residents with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s digital world. The initiative provided eligible participants with the opportunity to receive a free laptop and computer skills training.

On October 19, 2024, Delete The Divide collaborated with KJLH to participate in the 19th annual Taste of Soul held on Crenshaw Blvd. DTD set up our tent and had the opportunity to engage with hundreds of vibrant local community members, many of whom expressed strong interest in our services. Team members and interns informed the community about our services, particularly highlighting our small business resources. Special shoutout to our DTD Interns and staff who worked tirelessly to make this event the best they possibly could.

LearnBasicTech.org (LearnBasicTech, LBT) is the official website filled with many beginner-friendly courses and advanced courses that teach you various technology concepts. In addition, LBT provides in-person training sessions in several locations to help you better understand the basics of technology regardless of your age or experience. During these sessions LBT will teach you the basics of computers, internet, apps, security and more.

On October 21, 2024, Delete The Divide Interns and UCLA’s Break Through Tech AI collaborated on the DTD Data Dashboard project using Oracle software. This partnership has been excellent for DTD, and we look forward to continuing to do work together in the future.
