WeLink offers three standard residential plans — $65/month for up to 500 Mbps, $75/month for up to 1 Gbps, and $85/month for up to 2 Gbps. Qualifying low-income households can access those same three speed tiers at reduced rates: $25/month (500 Mbps), $35/month (1 Gbps), and $45/month (2 Gbps). All plans include unlimited data, a Wi-Fi router, no credit check, and no data caps. Pricing is fixed with no promotional rates through at least September 2027.

The County’s Community Broadband Network covers areas in and around East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, South Los Angeles, and Walnut Park. To confirm whether your specific address is included, visit the LA County Community Broadband Networks website and enter your address.

Construction is well underway and service is available now in some areas. All areas within the service zone are expected to have access by the end of 2026. Visit the LA County Community Broadband Networks website to check availability at your specific address.

The County of Los Angeles launched the Community Broadband Network as part of its commitment to bridging the digital divide. Communities in South and East LA have historically had lower home internet adoption rates, fewer internet options and higher prices. Affordable, reliable internet helps residents apply for jobs and benefits, support students with learning, attend telehealth appointments, and stay connected to community resources. The County partnered with WeLink to bring this new service to these neighborhoods and set affordable pricing requirements.

The internet service is provided by WeLink Communications, a private company. The County of Los Angeles partnered with WeLink to establish the Community Broadband Network and set the affordable pricing requirements. The Community Broadband Network was made possible in part through funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, from the County of Los Angeles, and from a grant for Local Agency Technical Assistance from a program administered by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

Yes. WeLink provides a Wi-Fi router that connects to your existing devices, such as phones, tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, and smart TVs.

Reliable home internet opens up a wide range of everyday needs: applying for jobs, benefits, and public services online; supporting students with homework, research, and virtual learning; attending telehealth appointments and accessing medical records; managing prescriptions and benefits from home; staying connected to family, friends, and community resources; and participating in online training, licensing courses, and professional programs.

Federal Lifeline Program
Lifeline is a federal program that lowers the monthly cost of phone or internet service. If you qualify, you can receive a discount of up to $9.25/month on phone, internet, or bundled service through a participating provider. To apply, visit lifelinesupport.org or getinternet.gov/apply.

California LifeLine Program
California LifeLine provides discounted phone and broadband services to qualified households through a participating provider. California is piloting a broadband discount of up to $20/month for standalone broadband, or up to $30/month for bundled broadband and phone service. To apply, visit californialifeline.com or learn more at cpuc.ca.gov. WeLink is not a participating Lifeline provider at this time.

Access to Free Community Wi-Fi
The LA County Library and many local city libraries offer free Wi-Fi. You can find other free public Wi-Fi locations in the area at findwifi.lacounty.gov and getconnected.lacity.gov.
