Affordable Internet Program – L.A. County Community Broadband
BIG NEWS! We’ve selected a partner, WeLink, to provide low-cost home internet service in the first two service areas.
L.A. County Community Broadband is working to close the digital divide in East Los Angeles and South Los Angeles by expanding access to affordable, high-speed internet.


What’s new
The County of Los Angeles has partnered with WeLink Communications, a next-generation internet provider, to serve the East Los Angeles area, Boyle Heights, South Los Angeles area, and Walnut Park.
Affordable plans include:
• Plans starting at $25 per month for qualifying households
• Plans starting at $65 per month with no qualification requirements
• Fixed pricing with no promotional rates through at least September 2027
WeLink service includes:
• Fast speeds of at least 500 Mbps download and upload
• Unlimited data and a free Wi-Fi router
• Multilingual customer support
• No credit checks or cash deposits required
Services in East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, South Los Angeles, and Walnut Park are currently in pre-construction, with limited availability expected in early 2026, with expanded service throughout 2026.

Major funding is provided by the American Rescue Plan Act. Also, funding for this project has been provided in part through a grant for Local Agency Technical Assistance from a program administered by the California Public Utilities Commission.
