Free and Low-Cost Internet Pilot Projects

The County of Los Angeles is committed to improving the quality of life for residents impacted by the digital divide. That’s why we started the Community Broadband Networks initiative to provide an option for affordable, reliable, and high-speed internet service. We are moving forward with pilot projects around the County that will provide free and low-cost internet plans. The pilot areas cover underserved communities where 20% or more lack internet service based on data from the US Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. We will be rolling out the project plans in early 2023. The first three announced project areas are shown below, with other areas in the County coming soon.
